Description :
  • As the Engineer of Mechanical Maintenance for Machinery, you will lead and oversee all mechanical maintenance activities within our Sheet metal steel and precision machining facility. Your role is critical in ensuring the operational readiness and reliability of all production machinery, minimizing downtime, and optimizing equipment performance. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, proactive maintenance strategies, and effective team leadership to support our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities :
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs for all production machinery, ensuring adherence to schedules and procedures.
  • Lead and supervise the mechanical maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify potential issues and schedule necessary repairs or replacements to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and bearings.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability of critical components to support maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Develop and maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for the maintenance team.
  • Implement and manage a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track maintenance activities and generate reports.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in mechanical maintenance, implementing improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance services and equipment repairs.
  • Participate in the design and installation of new machinery, ensuring proper integration and maintenance requirements are considered.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on basic maintenance procedures and equipment operation.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with environmental regulations and company policies, minimizing environmental impact.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the maintenance department, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage the calibration and certification of measuring instruments and equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Technical Skills :
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems - Expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems in presses, machining centers, and automated assembly lines, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Welding and Fabrication - Skilled in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding) and fabrication for repairing and modifying machine components. Knowledge of material properties and welding standards.
  • Predictive Maintenance Techniques - Utilizing vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and oil analysis to predict potential equipment failures and schedule maintenance proactively. Includes data interpretation and report generation.
  • CAD/CAM Software - Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam) for designing and modifying machine parts, creating technical drawings, and planning maintenance activities.
  • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting - Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) for automated machinery control. Includes troubleshooting PLC-related issues, modifying programs, and optimizing machine performance.
  • ISO/TS 16949 Quality Management - In-depth knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 standards for quality management in the automotive industry. Ensures maintenance activities comply with quality requirements and documentation standards.
  • Root Cause Analysis - Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) using methodologies like 5-Why or fishbone diagrams to identify and resolve underlying causes of equipment failures.
  • Electrical Systems - Thorough knowledge of electrical systems related to industrial machinery. Ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot electrical faults, and perform electrical repairs.
